How to read a card before you inquire
Each name is a configuration family, not a promise that a specific mill is under contract. When you open the form, repeat the footprint in feet, the eave height, the bay spacing and the clear span you actually need. A 80 ft by 120 ft warehouse with a 24 ft eave is a different design dead load and design live load problem from a 50 ft workshop with a crane runway.
Ask the factory to price hot-rolled steel primary frames separately from cold-formed steel secondary members. Purlin and girt spacing affect both the insulated metal panel attachment and the transport envelope of a panelized package. If the building must move as volumetric modules instead, record the highway limit and the crane lift plan before you treat the two methods as substitutes.
Keep shell, delivered, installed and turnkey amounts on different rows. Foundation interface, anchor bolts, slab, electrical rough-in and permits are frequent exclusions. A quotation that omits them can look lower without covering the same work. Quantity should say how many buildings or modules, and destination should name the US delivery point plus any site access limit.
Code language belongs to the project jurisdiction. IBC, ASCE 7 and AISC 360 are documents to request for the quoted system. They are not credentials of BeamSpan Sourcing. HUD Code applies to a different manufactured-housing path and should not be copied onto a permanent steel building brief unless the authority having jurisdiction says it does.
If a brand or building reference started the search, explain the required geometry and scope instead of assuming product equivalence. Optional budget can be a USD range per building or for the whole order. Supplier preference can be premium, mid-range, budget or undecided. None of those fields is a verified rating.
After the replies arrive, mark every line included, excluded, optional or still open. Normalize currency and delivery basis before you rank numbers. The buyer and the project engineer keep the acceptance decision. Continue with scope review or send the brief.
